OUR COSMETICS

The skin is our second lung, capable of absorbing in seconds and transporting to the bones certain residues of the products applied to it. It is therefore important to understand the contents of what we apply to our skin, conscientiously selecting the cosmetic products on the market, which often boast miraculous properties without explaining what the effects of the individual ingredients are on our health.

Shalini Cosmetics was born from the encounter between the most advanced dermocosmetic biotechnology and the ancient knowledge of Ayurvedic medicine. A new approach to skin care is based on this synthesis: a holistic approach that sees beauty as a state of harmony. Understanding ‘global wellbeing’ as a state of balance between body, mind and spirit, we conceive the practice of skincare as a process of self-awareness, and of reconnecting with one's Self.

What makes Shalini cosmetics unique is the meticulous attention to detail: each product, down to its smallest component, is formulated solely from plant (or plant-derived) raw materials that are categorically organic, pure, highly selected in terms of chemotype, harvested in uncontaminated environments, i.e. wild and/or organic places and processed through laborious natural and semi-natural extraction or purification methods (without chemical washing), yielding a 100% natural, high-performance product, rich in active ingredients that are qualitatively unparalleled in terms of purity and quantitatively superior in terms of concentration, incomparable to any industrially produced product.

Our Mission

What determines our Mission is the promotion of harmony of body, mind and spirit, the primary and indispensable condition of Well-being, through exclusively natural, organic and balanced formulations
that work not only on the symptom, on the blemish, but on the ground, on the root causes on which
the blemish is generated.
Our aim is to replace the silicone-derived petroleum products on the market with high-quality,
totally natural ingredients of vegetable origin.

ANTI-AGE LINE

The Antiage Supreme line represents
an innovative synthesis of traditional Ayurvedic wisdom,
state-of-the-art molecular biotechnology and pure
biological raw materials.

The special, unique and precious formulations of this line are not only indicated to rejuvenate the skin tissue or to slow down the ageing process (both natural and accelerated by stress and frenetic life): they also act as a preventive treatment, carrying out a rebalancing action on all three Doshas, enhancing the skin's natural defence capacities, fighting the action of free radicals, nourishing,
plumping and revitalising.
This prestigious line is formulated by synergising a new generation of cosmetic ingredients, defined as epigenetic actives, which represent one of the most interesting applications of molecular biology in the cosmetic field, and are the spokesmen for what is known
as ‘immunocosmetics’.
Immunocosmetics is an innovative and high-performance approach to cell regeneration that exploits the interaction with the nucleic acids of skin cells, performing an effective modulating activity on the cellular immune system. In this way, skin homeostasis (i.e. the skin's ability to restore itself)
is more efficient and so is its ability to defend itself against stress factors, ageing, or microbiome imbalances. Hence younger, more resilient and healthier skin.
The formulations of the Supreme Line are therefore
a real nourishment for skin cells: they are able to repair
cellularDNA damage and promote skin renewal by restoring its initial values. They also promote the production
of elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid.

The action takes place on several levels:

PLUMPING ACTION:
they have an anti-ageing activity on the skin (immediate
and long-term lifting), with an anti-wrinkle, elasticising and moisturising action and actingon cell renewal, making the skin firmer and more toned. They also have a filling effect by stimulating collagen and hyaluronic acid, and an elasticising effect by increasing elastin production.
REGENERATING, REPAIRING AND HEALINGACTION:
They regenerate the structure of the dermis and promote the proliferation of fibroblasts and stem cells. They increase the thickness of the skin.
PROTECTIVE, RE-EPITHELIALISING AND
ANTI-POLLUTION
:
they repair damage caused by UV rays, promote cutaneous homeostasis and reformation of the epithelium. They perform an anti-pollution action.
SOOTHING AND ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTION:They restore theskin's innate immunity by boosting the cells' immune system and have an important anti-inflammatory activity . They increase skin resilience, soothe irritated skin and strengthen the most sensitive skin.

ANTIOXIDANT AND ILLUMINATING ACTION:
they protect cells against the negative action of free radicals and make the skin brighter and more radiant by reducing blemishes and evening out the complexion.

DOSHA COSMETIC LINE

The skin is regarded by Ayurveda as a mirror of health because it reflects possible psychophysical imbalances.

In this complex and fascinating system of interpretation
state of health is understood as the state of greatest possible balance between the three doshas, or bio-types, without any one prevailing excessively over the others, creating disharmony.
The objective of Ayurveda is therefore to restore harmony between these three constitutions by reducing the impact of the current excess dosha, which is the cause of imbalance and hence difficulty, malaise, and disease.
Central to our focus is the need to offer a holistic approach to cosmetic solutions, capable of rebalancing normal tissue physiology through highly selected plants in correlation with the individual bio-type (Dosha) and the imbalances present.

AYURVEDA OILS

Ayurveda prescribes the use of various medicated oils to be applied to the body externally or internally, with or without massage, to obtain health benefits and treat various specific problems. The detailed processing of the medicated oil is described in the ancient Ayurvedic Chikitsa textbooks recognised by the Drugs and Cosmetic Act and the Ayurvedic Handbook of India. The production of medicated oils takes place in several long stages of cooking and resting to obtain an amalgam, in order to extract the maximum of their beneficial quality from the plants. The process involves grinding the herbs (roots, berries, flowers, barks, etc.) to a coarse powder and mixing it with enough water to obtain a paste-like mass. It is then boiled again in water with 16 times the amount of herbs, until the volume is reduced to a quarter. The decoction is then filtered through a muslin cloth to obtain an evaporated, moisture-free amalgam, to which an oil is added, which according to the formulations prescribed in the Chikitsa texts, will be sesame, coconut or castor oil with further cooking. The different oils will give a characteristic colour and smell in relation to the herb used. In the final stage, the oil is hot filtered through a muslin cloth and left to cool. No antioxidants or stabilisers are added to any of the oils, the finished oils are poured into sterile bottles are and stored at room temperature.
